MAPPING TRACES
A project about storing and perishableness.
About the things laying and hanging in your room, traces of a past.
Traces to protect the memories from being forgotten, from being lost forever.
Postponing the perishableness by storing, in these modern times where it's all about throwing away and not looking back.
I've collected everything I own, all my traces of a past. Everything hanging in my room, laying around. Over 1400 objects. I've grouped them by traces of a cherised or important memory (grey), traces of memories that are not important to me (yellow) and objects I don't know how I got them, so therefore don't have traces of memories (blue).
All these traces are placed in a look-up-system, however, all parts to easily look up something are no longer there. There is no beginning and no end, just like memories that are never recalled chronologically.
